As a playwright, Cass is particularly interested in contemporary Australian stories and the creative possibilities of regional theatre practice. Her writing explores relationships, place, and the shifting dynamics between communities and the environments they inhabit.

Alongside her creative work, Cass has built a career in arts marketing and audience development, leading campaigns and engagement strategies for organisations and festivals across Queensland. This experience informs her producing practice, combining creative insight with strategic thinking to help projects reach audiences and build long-term impact.

She currently works in regional arts development and continues to support artists, organisations, and communities through producing, mentoring, and creative collaboration.

Cassandra Ramsay is a playwright, creative producer, and arts marketing specialist based in Yuwi Country / Mackay. Her practice sits at the intersection of storytelling, producing, and sector development, with a strong focus on new Australian work and regional creative practice.

Over the past fifteen years she has worked across theatre, festivals, and cultural organisations throughout Queensland, including the Judith Wright Arts Centre, Brisbane Powerhouse, HOTA, Metro Arts, and Brisbane Writers Festival. Her experience spans producing, audience development, strategic marketing, and artist support.

Cass co-founded the independent theatre company THAT Production Company in Ipswich, where she produced and co-presented a wide range of contemporary theatre works and creative development programs. Through this work she supported numerous playwrights and theatre-makers in developing and presenting new work, and helped create opportunities for artists to connect with audiences outside major metropolitan centres.

Her projects have included theatre productions, creative developments, artist interviews, workshops, fundraising events, poetry readings, and film screenings. Across all of these, she is interested in creating spaces where artists feel supported to experiment, collaborate, and share stories with their communities.
